The Geissele Premium Mil-Spec Buffer Tube is precision machined from 7075-T6 aluminum and finished in durable Type III hardcoat anodize. Built to true mil-spec dimensions, this carbine-length, mil-spec diameter buffer tube features six stock positions for adjustable length of pull. Made in the USA and weighing 3.7 oz, it ensures compatibility with most mil-spec AR-15 stocks. A high-quality mil-spec castle nut and end plate are included for complete installation.

The Geissele Super 42® Spring is engineered to enhance the reliability and performance of AR-15 pattern rifles. Its innovative three-strand braided design—modeled after the German MG42 machine gun concept—acts as a harmonic damper and energy absorber, allowing each strand to flex independently. This reduces stress, improves durability, and minimizes the risk of spring failure.

Compared to a standard buffer spring, the Super 42 Spring maintains its length and force over extended round counts and eliminates the common “twang” felt through the stock. With approximately 15% greater average return force, it improves feeding reliability, especially in dirty conditions or when using steel-case ammunition.

Anodize Variations & Lighting Differences

Please note that colored anodized parts may vary in shade and can appear significantly different depending on lighting conditions. While this may be noticeable, it is a natural characteristic of the premium anodizing process we use. Due to the nature of high-quality Type III hardcoat anodizing, exact color consistency cannot be guaranteed.

Note: The Super 42® Spring is designed for use with carbine-length buffer tubes only and is not compatible with rifle-length or A5 buffer tubes/receiver extensions. It is not recommended for use with .300 Blackout subsonic ammunition, as the increased spring force may prevent proper cycling.
