The included Geissele Super 42® Spring is engineered to enhance the reliability and performance of AR-15 pattern rifles. Its innovative three-strand braided wire design—modeled after the spring system of the German MG42—functions as a harmonic damper, allowing each strand to flex independently. This reduces excess energy, minimizes wear, and decreases the likelihood of spring failure.
Compared to standard buffer springs, the Super 42 offers improved longevity with less loss of length and tension over high round counts. It also eliminates the common “twang” sound felt through the stock. With approximately 15% greater average return force than a standard buffer spring, it aids in reliable feeding, especially in dirty conditions or when using steel-case ammunition.
